Regen Technologies was built from the ground up — literally. Founder Patrick McCarthy grew up in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, where survival and stability were not abstract ideals but daily practice. You heated your home with wood you cut yourself. You fixed what broke. You showed up for your neighbors, because they showed up for you.
That upbringing shaped a belief that has guided every chapter since: systems matter. The structures we build quietly determine the opportunities available to the people inside them.
Patrick's path ran through restoration work after the 2010 crash — entering homes damaged by fire, flood, and mold, learning what infrastructure failure actually costs families. It ran through high-growth technology at Dealer.com, mission-driven agriculture at High Mowing Organic Seeds, nonprofit governance at Heartbeet Lifesharing, and years of rebuilding after personal loss during the pandemic. Each chapter deepened the same conviction: every system answers to its incentives. If extraction is rewarded, extraction scales. If regeneration is rewarded, regeneration scales.
Regen Technologies emerged from that conviction. It is not simply a technology company. It is an attempt to rethink how infrastructure can serve communities rather than extract from them — integrating water, energy, and digital infrastructure into campus models designed to last for generations, funded by reserves from day one, rooted in the places they serve.
